M-Moments

This growing section has a "blog" feel, allowing us to discuss current events and topics of interest to our readers in an engaging and timely way. For example, we're in the middle of an insightful five-part series on mobilization. If you've been following along, you're probably eager for the next installment, View from the Church (pt 3), which will be published this time next week.

To get the most out of the upcoming post, I highly encourage you to read Part 1: The Introduction and Part 2: View from the Field if you have not already done so. These earlier entries set the stage for a broader understanding of mobilization and the different perspectives we'll explore. Stay tuned for next week’s post, where we’ll explore how mobilization looks from within the Western Church and its role in this crucial movement.

Sub-Saharan Migration

Two years ago, we embarked on a significant journey to illuminate sub-Saharan migration. We gather unique insights from the ground and share them with a growing community. Our work is built on firsthand experiences and engagement with diverse voices. These are detailed articles that follow a theme not unlike a book. Despite their length, they have been praised by many, and their content allows for more strategic gospel engagement with a broader diaspora audience.

  • Mission: To disseminate critical information on sub-Saharan African (SSA) migration.
  • Accomplishments: Published over 80 articles on SSA migration, having conducted fieldwork in more than 35 countries.
  • Data Sources: Observations from the field, interviews with migrants, and interactions with hundreds of local, immigrant, and international pastors.
  • Audience: Over 800 subscribers with a typical engagement of 50-60% on each post.

Resources

Earlier this year, we expanded our ability to provide resources to pastors worldwide. Our book, "Strategically Planted," was initially published in English in February 2024, and we're thrilled to announce that it has just been released in French! Both versions are now available for purchase on Amazon, making it easier for Western audiences to access this valuable resource. Additionally, for our non-Western members, we are excited to offer the book for free in PDF format in both languages. This initiative allows us to support pastoral brothers globally, bridging the gap between the West and the rest of the world.

Lausanne 4 - Seoul

Lausanne 4: Collaboration

The Lausanne Movement was established in 1974 by Billy Graham and John Stott to unite global evangelical leaders in spreading the gospel. This year's conference brought together over 5,300 influential leaders worldwide. I had the honor of serving as a Diaspora Missiologist in the role of World Christian Studies at this latest congress. It was truly inspiring to see the unity in the call to the Great Commission and to meet others who share the same commitment. If you're unfamiliar with the Lausanne Movement, here are some key points:

  • Lausanne I (1974) in Lausanne, Switzerland: It was here that Ralph Winter introduced the concept of unreached people groups, changing how missionaries approached global engagement.
  • Lausanne II (1989) in Manila, Philippines: Highlighted the 10/40 window, an area where nearly half of the world’s non-Christian populations live. The result was an unprecedented focus of missional resources on this area.
  • Lausanne III (2010) in Cape Town, South Africa: This historic conference recognized the impact of globalization and urbanization. The church gained a renewed focus on missions and shed new light on moving peoples, elevating diaspora missiology.
  • Lausanne IV (2024) in Seoul, Korea: This past week was a powerful reminder of the importance of churches and missional communities collaborating to spread the gospel worldwide. It was a passionate call for the global church to unite and work together. It's truly inspiring to think about how this will shape the church's work as she strives to complete her mission.

Finally, A Word on Subscriptions

You may have noticed that a subscription is required to access M2M3. This is to ensure security and monitor access to the information. 98% of our readers have chosen the free subscription, which is absolutely fine. However, paid subscriptions are available for those who wish to support the costs of managing the site.

Additionally, you will find that the PDF versions of the books are also free. This is to assist non-Western pastors facing financial or geographical limitations in accessing these materials. We kindly ask that all others purchase the books through local distributors or, if you prefer the PDF download, consider becoming a paid subscriber.

Thank you for your prayers as M2M3 continues expanding its reach and impact.
